What’s new

Every change, newest first. If you told us about something on r/UCSC and it is in here, that is why it is in here.

  1. A calmer interface, and a phone that works

Everything here came out of the r/UCSC thread. Thank you, genuinely.

    • ChangedClass search opened with fifteen controls before a single result. It is now a search box, one Filters button and a sort. Every filter still exists, and the ones you switch on show up as chips you can remove.
    • FixedOn a phone, tapping a class sent its details to the very bottom of the page, past every other result. They now open directly under the class you tapped.
    • FixedThe sign-in card on the home page collapsed to one word per line on a narrow screen.
    • ChangedFilters that let you pick several things use checkboxes; filters where picking one clears the others use radio circles. Status and sort had this backwards.
    • ChangedRounded pills, heavy cards and a gradient icon out; squared corners, a flat route mark and far fewer borders in. Results are a list now rather than forty boxes.
    • NewIt now says, before you rely on it, that an unsaved schedule lives in this browser’s local storage on your own device and is never sent anywhere.
    • ChangedAmerican spellings throughout. "Enrolment" was the British one.
    • NewForty-one automated end-to-end tests, run against a desktop browser and a real iPhone browser, so the fixes above cannot quietly come undone.
  2. Traffic counting

    • NewAnonymous page-view analytics. No schedule data, no accounts, no cookies for it.
  3. Resources

    • NewA checked directory in nine tabs: start here, clubs, events, traditions, jobs, scholarships, support, who to ask, and how-to. Searchable across all of them at once.
    • ChangedIt covers the off-campus sites students actually use as well, clearly badged, since listing something is not endorsing it. Every link is re-checked on each build.
  4. First public version

    • NewWalk checking. Every gap between your classes is routed over the real campus footpath network instead of measured in a straight line, which on this campus is off by 18 to 56 percent.
    • NewSection picker that rates every discussion or lab against the schedule you already have, for time conflicts and for whether you can physically get there.
    • NewClass search across six quarters, with live seat counts and RateMyProfessors scores.
    • NewCampus map with 489 buildings, flat or 2.5D, and turn-by-turn walking directions.
    • NewGE checklist that fills itself in from your schedule.
    • NewCalendar export and import, seven themes, and Google Drive sync.

Something still wrong, or a class showing in the wrong building? That is the most useful thing you can report, because room names are matched by hand.
